Unmatched in the wildlife photographic industry is our specialized photographic game drive vehicle – based in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve bordering the Northern region of the Kruger National Park. With no fences between the two reserves the animals move freely within more than 20 000 square kilometers of wilderness area. The Timbavati Private Nature Reserve is renowned for its great wildlife sightings some of which are the endangered white lion, leopard, wild dog, cheetah and many, many more – combined with our photographic vehicle, a professional wildlife photographer and Simbavati River Lodge – it promises to be an unforgettable experience.
Our professional photographer will ensure that you benefit from one on one instruction on everything from how to achieve the best position for the ultimate wildlife shot to professional tips on image editing, including both a pre- game drive and post -drive briefing.

Simbavati Photographic Safaris are run in partnership with Africa Photographic Travel and in association with Nikon. It is important to note that all makes of camera are welcome on our tours. We will also send out an equipment list in order to determine what type of equipment is going on any specific tour, thereafter we will endeavor without any guarantees to fill the gaps.
Should you wish to rent equipment at an additional cost please feel free to let us know. Equipment is available to purchase at the lodge as well as all camera accessories including memory cards.
Since we spend quite a bit of time on editing with a professional wildlife photographer, we recommend that you travel with a notebook or tab, card readers and enough memory cards.
Our groups are very small, which means individualized attention is a guarantee; therefore all levels of photographers would be catered for even if we have a varied group.
Should you wish to book a date which is not one of our set departures you would be responsible for filling all 4 seats.
Private use: The specialized vehicle can be adapted to take two people on an exclusive basis and would be quoted on accordingly.
Professional Host: Professional wildlife photographers wanting to host their own groups on our specialized photographic vehicle are welcome to do so; however it would require us doing a re-costing of the packages, and certain conditions will apply.
